Why is there a bursary for college graduates?
A new system is being set up in India to help graduates to get a degree in the fields of engineering, business, arts and technology.
The Bharatiya Janata Party government has announced the Bharatiyalaya Higher Education Fund (BHIELF) to help graduate students to pursue their studies and earn an average income.
BHIELS is a government-backed scheme to help university graduates who are eligible to earn an annual income of Rs 1 lakh.
It has a maximum corpus of Rs 10 lakh.
According to a government release, it will help graduates in the STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and technical education, as well as in the humanities and social sciences.
The government says the scheme will also help graduates with training for employment and career advancement.
In a statement, the Bharat Karnataka government said it has set up a separate fund to help students in various disciplines.
“In order to provide this assistance to students, the Government has set-up a separate government fund for the purpose of the education of engineering graduates and students in the subjects of engineering and engineering related fields,” it said.
According to the BHIEL fund, it is aimed at providing financial assistance to graduates from the STEM, STEM related fields in addition to support in vocational training.
This is the second time that the government has launched a Bharati yalai yam.
In 2016, it announced the Kumbh Mela Yojana, which aims to give loans for students from all over the country to get into college.
As per the scheme, the government aims to provide loans of up to Rs 1 crore for students who are able to obtain an undergraduate degree.
Under the scheme there is a cap of Rs 100,000 per student.
